Kelly McSweeney-Erbe, global head and senior vice president at Red Bull Media House, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in marketing.
With over two decades of experience to her credit, Ms. McSweeney-Erbe has established a successful career in marketing, specializing in content distribution, platform partnerships, and innovation. She has served as the global head and senior vice president at Red Bull Media House since 2015 and as founder and adviser at Maven Collective since 2017. Prior to this, she was the global TV lead at Microsoft from 2013 to 2015 and the senior director of emerging media at NBCUniversal Media LLC from 2012 to 2013. Her experience also includes serving as senior director of cross-platform programming and product at Comcast from 2009 to 2012, cross-platform program manager at Comcast from 2006 to 2008, and programmer and producer at KPBS from 2001 to 2006. Her creative contributions include presenting and judging for the Interactive Emmys in 2018, partnering with Oculus VR for the F8 announcement in 2018, and serving as a panelist at the Latino Film Festival. She also holds a patent for “Play Live” with Bravo Media LLC, a division of NBCUniversal.
Ms. McSweeney-Erbe has also been an executive committee member of the Interactive Media Peer Group at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences since 2019, and is involved with The WICT Network, Women in Film, and serves as a leader with the Girl Scouts of the United States of America. Additionally, she has been a judge for sports leadership, participated in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon, and is involved with the National Parent Teacher Organization. In light of her impressive undertakings, she was honored with the Best TV App Experience at the Google Play Awards in 2017, a Shorty Award for Best Integration of Social Media with Live Television from Bravo Media LLC in 2013, recognition for Product Development for ExerciseTV at Comcast in Time’s 50 Best Websites in 2010, and an Interactive Emmy for Multiplatform Storytelling from Bravo Media LLC. Laying a solid educational foundation for these successes, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in media management and a minor in psychology from San Diego State University in 2003, and a master’s degree in educational technology from San Diego State University.
Reflecting on her path, Ms. McSweeney-Erbe takes great pride in her track record of launching successful ventures, having led the creation of a new department at Red Bull and founded the marketing agency Maven Collective. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she also effectively addressed the concerns of women hesitant to return to the office through a successful initiative developed in collaboration with her sister. She attributes her success to strong leadership, motivational skills, an innovative approach, and adept problem-solving abilities. Looking ahead, she aims to become a prominent female leader in storytelling and innovation, with a commitment to positively impacting the world. She is dedicated to pursuing opportunities aligned with her purpose and remains passionate about sports, having been an athlete and soccer player. Her advice to aspiring professionals is to stay humble, continuously seek new experiences, focus on meaningful work rather than titles, be adaptable in the face of industry evolution, and surround themselves with intelligent, supportive individuals.
