With over a decade and a half of experience to her credit, Ms. Palmeri has built a successful career in safety, specializing in root cause analysis and leadership. She currently serves as secretary advisory board member for the SHRM Student Chapter at Columbia Southern University, a role she has held since 2024, and as a graduate and research and development safety intern at Southwest Research Institute since 2023. In her current capacity, she writes and modifies safety procedures to align with corporate standards across various divisions, generates reports for daily operations to ensure compliance with safety regulations, and collaborates with team members to develop policies that enhance understanding of equipment and safety protocols. Her experience also includes serving as specialty back-office supervisor at Pacific Dental Services from 2021 to 2023, traveling specialty assistant at Pacific Dental Services from 2016 to 2021, and lead dental assistant at Castle Dental from 2012 to 2016. Earlier in her career, she worked as a cashier for Target Brands Inc. in 2015, dental assistant and front office receptionist for Galveston County Health District from 2009 to 2012, and registered dental assistant at Your Perfect Smile Cosmetic & Family Dentistry from 2008 to 2009.

Laying a strong educational foundation, Ms. Palmeri earned an associate of science in general studies from San Jacinto College in 2020 and a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health from Columbia Southern University in 2022. She also completed the dental assistant program in dental clinical sciences at the Texas School of Business-Friendswood and is a certified Graduate Safety Practitioner designation from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. She holds membership with the Omega Nu Lambda National Honor Society, the American Society of Safety Professionals, and the National Safety Council. Additionally, she volunteers with the Safe Kids Foundation, a global nonprofit dedicated to protecting kids from preventable injuries, the number one cause of death to children in the United States and a global epidemic around the world..

Reflecting on her path, Ms. Palmeri takes great pride in pursuing her master’s degree in occupational health and safety, balancing a full-time job with her studies. She attributes her success to the support of friends and peers, particularly through her involvement with the American Society of Safety Professionals, where she connected with like-minded individuals who encouraged her to reach her goals. As she looks ahead, she is committed to advancing her career, determined to climb the corporate ladder and envisions herself in a higher leadership role, potentially as a director. Education remains a top priority, and she aims to expand her knowledge and expertise while becoming an advocate for a healthy and supportive workplace.

Ms. Palmeri’s ultimate goal is to implement positive changes and inspire greater involvement and engagement from others in her field. In advising aspiring professionals, she emphasizes having open communication and trying to understand diverse perspectives. Personally, she carefully evaluates environments to ensure they align with her long-term aspirations. During reflective moments, such as working out or walking her dog, she finds guidance and positivity in her faith, which helps her maintain focus and work toward a bright future.
