Before joining his company, Mr. Galjaardt held various other positions, including as a security risk manager for operations at Lendlease in Sydney, Australia, from 2014 to 2016 and as a project director for Mainstay between 2011 and 2014. He also garnered success in the Australian Army, serving in four overseas operations between 1989 and 2007. During his time in the military, Mr. Galjaardt began his risk management journey. After earning the rank of lieutenant colonel and retiring, he began giving back to the civilian sector, aiming to reduce industrial worksite incidents.
Mr. Galjaardt graduated from the Royal Military College in Paris in 1990 and the French War College in 2004. Subsequently, he received a bachelor’s degree in professional studies at the University of New England in Australia in 1997 and a master’s degree in geopolitics and industrial dynamics from Paris-Pantheon-Assas University in 2004. In addition to his formal education, he received numerous professional credentials, including as a certified information systems security professional through ISC2, certified ethical hacker through the EC-Council, and certified mine safety professional through the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration Inc. Mr. Galjaardt is active in his professional community as a member of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration Inc. and the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, and civically through his involvement planting trees in Africa. Highlighting his accomplishments, which he credits to his passion for learning, he received a United Nations Commendation and a President’s Award for excellence in business performance from Boart Longyear in 2021.
