Zlatan Nathan Mujagic, MBA, Managing Partner and Head of Chief Financial Officer Advisory Group at GoldmanWolfe, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements and leadership in Financial Services.
Mr. Mujagic has distinguished himself with a career spanning over 15 years through his commitment to authenticity and high-quality work. His expertise encompasses attestation assurance, audit services and fractional chief financial officer (CFO)-level engagements. In 2022, Mr. Mujagic co-founded GoldmanWolfe, a mid-sized public accounting firm with six offices located throughout the New York City Metro and Northern New Jersey areas. As the managing partner, he oversees technical projects and manages a portfolio of long-term engagements involving CFO- or controller-level talent placements.
Before launching GodmanWolfe, Mr. Mujagic maintained a pivotal role at Dycom Industries Inc. in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he served as the managing director and divisional CFO from 2017 to 2023. Notably, during his tenure, he played a crucial role in overseeing due diligence and facilitating a significant buyout transaction.
Earlier, Mr. Mujagic was employed by Brooks International, headquartered in West Palm Beach, as a principal consultant and financial planning and analysis director. Here, he led a team responsible for financial modeling and predictive analytics for Fortune 1000 clients from 2016 to 2017. His primary responsibilities included budgeting, forecasting and variance/benchmark/KPI predictive modeling throughout the project lifecycle.
Mr. Mujagic’s initial role took place at Bank of America in West Palm Beach, where he ascended to vice president of commercial and industrial business banking for South Florida. During this tenure, he honed his skills in commercial credit underwriting and risk management. Despite his rapid rise within the organization, Mr. Mujagic learned valuable lessons about the importance of work-life balance and the potential costs of swift career advancement.
Mr. Mujagic’s journey began with a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management from the University of Central Florida in 2009. Subsequently, he received a Master of Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University in 2014. Additionally, Mr. Mujagic holds the chartered global management accountant designation.
Active professionally, Mr. Mujagic is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has also served as the finance chair for the Florida Bar Association. Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Mujagic is civically engaged as a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity International.
Throughout his career, Mr. Mujagic’s most notable achievement included serving as the interim CFO during the turnaround of a private multifamily office with $400 million in assets under management. This office was the victim of severe fraud, specifically perpetrated by the former C-suite CFO, who was indicted and charged. Mr. Mujagic successfully facilitated the firm’s entry into Chapter 11, preserving all assets and renegotiating terms with creditors, effectively preventing the total liquidation of the company’s commercial real estate portfolio.
In light of his contributions early in his career, Mr. Mujagic was recognized with several internal awards from Bank of America. He attributes much of his success to his diverse background and upbringing. Looking ahead, Mr. Mujagic aims to leverage his experience to transition into a CFO role for a public company. He advises aspiring professionals to embrace technological advancements as tools that can enhance their careers rather than threats to job security.
