Ms. Ibe has established a distinguished career in compliance and risk management, employed by Amazon.com Inc. for more than five years. Since 2025, she has excelled as a global risk and compliance lead for privacy and people data. In this capacity, she oversees employee data management, intellectual property rights related to employee information, and the development of proprietary human capital management systems. Ms. Ibe’s responsibilities include ensuring that Amazon’s systems do not infringe on existing software copyrights, protecting sensitive employee and copyright data, and maintaining compliance with employment regulations in every country where Amazon operates. Sitting at the intersection of legal interpretation, operational compliance and stakeholder influence, she leads the human resources risk and compliance function while safeguarding personal data and upholding copyright standards in all third-party tools.
Before her present position, Ms. Ibe served as the global risk and compliance lead for global expansions at Amazon.com Inc. from 2021 to 2025. She played a pivotal role in supporting Amazon’s international growth by ensuring that the company implemented appropriate policies from the outset in each new market. Between 2020 and 2021, Ms. Ibe excelled as a senior human resources risk and compliance manager, program owner, immigration and right to work lead for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Amazon.com Inc. In this role, she focused on immigration matters and work authorization processes across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring that Amazon’s workforce complied with local laws while supporting business objectives.
Before joining Amazon.com Inc., Ms. Ibe was employed by EY from 2016 to 2019. She initially worked as a manager of global immigration, where she developed expertise in managing large-scale immigration programs. Ms. Ibe then served as a senior manager of global immigration within people advisory services at EY between 2018 and 2019.
Ms. Ibe also contributed her skills as a justice of the peace for England and Wales with the Ministry of Justice in the U.K. from 2017 to 2025. Serving as a magistrate, a role comparable to a judge, she presided over cases in the magistrates’ court. Notably, the rigorous selection process for this position required a year-long application period involving interviews and evaluations before final appointment. Becoming a magistrate stands among Ms. Ibe’s most significant professional achievements.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Ibe was senior advisor for business development at Dearson Winyard International from 2012 to 2015, where she specialized in immigration consulting. She previously worked as a senior corporate immigration consultant at Breytenbachs Immigration Consultants Ltd. between 2011 and 2012, following her tenure as a senior immigration caseworker at Lawrence Lupin Solicitors from 2009 to 2010. Ms. Ibe’s experience also included serving as a business immigration manager at Migration and Immigration Services between 2008 and 2009 and as a caseworker at M. Olubi Solicitors from 2006 to 2008.
Ms. Ibe’s academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Laws from the University of the West of England in Bristol, followed by completion of the legal practice course on campus. These credentials have underpinned her success across both legal practice and corporate compliance roles. Ms. Ibe’s professional development is further supported by certifications, including scrum master certified status and PRINCE2 project management certification.
Ms. Ibe is an active member and chair of the advocacy committee of the National Association of Black Compliance and Risk Management Compliance Professionals Inc., reflecting her commitment to advancing diversity within her field. Beyond her professional commitments, she volunteers her time to help advance industry standards for underrepresented groups. She also volunteers with Global Perinatal Services, supporting pregnancy and parenting initiatives focused on black immigrant and refugee families.
Recognized for her expertise in governance and risk, including Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance, governance risk and compliance frameworks, audit readiness and control design, Ms. Ibe also excels in privacy regulations, such as General Data Protection Regulation, data protection impact assessments and global workforce data governance. She is also proficient in technology and artificial intelligence (AI) risk management related to human resources information systems controls, PeopleSoft platforms, AI model risk assessment and automation strategies. Ms. Ibe’s leadership has extended across more than 280 stakeholders globally through cross-functional program management.
A well-written writer, Ms. Ibe has authored several works as a ghostwriter for publishing companies. She also contributed as a feature writer to Voices in the Shadow.
Ms. Ibe’s accomplishments have been recognized through features, such as being named among the Top 50 Black Women in Tech by Voices in the Shadow in 2023. Throughout her career journey, she has attributed her achievements to resilience, adaptability and proactive engagement with change. Born in London with Nigerian heritage, Ms. Ibe balances a demanding career with family life as a parent to three children. Looking ahead, she envisions expanding her impact within operational risk management, particularly within technology-driven sectors, by taking on dynamic roles that shape emerging fields. Ms. Ibe is also eager to build teams from inception while exploring how automation can transform operational risk practices worldwide.
