Mr. Tamayo has established a distinguished career marked by leadership, expertise, and a commitment to advancing corporate governance and legal excellence across international markets. As a board member of Addiuva Enterprises, he oversees a holding company with affiliates throughout Latin America, Spain, and Egypt. In this capacity, he works closely with board members, shareholders, the chief executive officer, and key stakeholders to align interests, ensure effective communication, and support the execution of board decisions.

Mr. Tamayo’s responsibilities include coordinating and facilitating regular shareholder, board, and stakeholder meetings; monitoring the implementation of resolutions; managing legal documentation for the holding company and its affiliates; reviewing critical legal and commercial agreements; and supporting corporate reorganizations through document analysis and stakeholder coordination. He also prepares board notices, drafts resolutions and meeting minutes and maintains corporate and statutory legal books.

In 2005, Mr. Tamayo joined Addiuva Enterprises as head of the global legal department. Over the past two decades, he has advanced from that role to chief legal counsel and later to his current position as a board member of the holding company. His work with Addiuva Enterprises remains among his most meaningful professional achievements because of the company’s growth and its impact on employees and communities across several countries.

Throughout his tenure, Mr. Tamayo has taken particular pride in guiding two major reorganizations within the group, complex undertakings that required him to manage a network of companies and shareholders while maintaining stability and supporting growth. These experiences have been both challenging and rewarding, underscoring his ability to lead through periods of transformation.

Prior to joining Addiuva Enterprises, Mr. Tamayo served as head of the Legal Department for Ebel International’s operations in Colombia from 2002 to 2005, overseeing legal matters for the Colombian operations of the multinational cosmetics company. Earlier in his career, he began his professional journey at Brigard Castro Attorneys in 1996, a firm specializing in intellectual property and competition law. His professional career as a whole underpins his expertise in corporate governance, technology, artificial intelligence, data protection, and management.

In addition to his corporate roles, Mr. Tamayo has contributed to academia. From 2000 to 2007, he taught business law at the Universidad Externado de Colombia. He also served as a professor of electronic commerce and international contracts at Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano from 2003 to 2004. His leadership extended to professional associations as well. He was the secretary general of the Asociación Colombiana de la Propiedad Industrial (ACPI) from 2001 before becoming president of the Asociación Colombiana de la Propiedad Industrial (ACPI) from 2006 to 2007.

Mr. Tamayo has also contributed several scholarly works to specialized publications by Universidad Externado de Colombia focusing on intellectual property, consumer protection and unfair competition law. His notable publications include “Fraude en comercio electrónico y el consumidor,” featured in Revista Sociedad de la Información Digital in 2007, and “Las denominaciones de origen y su relación con otros signos distintivos,” published by Revista de la Propiedad Inmaterial – Editorial Universidad Externado de Colombia in 2002.

Mr. Tamayo earned his law degree from Universidad Externado de Colombia in Bogotá in 1995 and a master’s degree in business law from Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá in 1997. He has continued to strengthen his expertise through executive education programs, including Family Enterprises and Wealth from Columbia Business School at Columbia University and Corporate Governance: Maximize Your Effectiveness in the Boardroom from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania.

Throughout his career, Mr. Tamayo has been committed to promoting a business approach focused on generating a positive impact in the communities and among employees across the countries where Addiuva Enterprises operates, recognizing the importance of creating value for employees, communities, and stakeholders. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, he enjoys traveling, playing pickleball, tennis and golf, reading, painting and spending time with family and friends. He also supports civic and religious organizations including the Catholic Church and the Archdiocese of Miami.
