Title: Executive Project Administrator
Company: ProWest
Location: Wildomar, California, United States
Janet Anderson, executive project administrator at ProWest, has been recognized by Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in construction and community advocacy.
Ms. Anderson’s stellar career in the construction industry began in 2002 when she joined ProWest as an executive project administrator. Over the past 25 years, she has distinguished herself through her expertise in networking, consulting, branding, additional exposure and documenting professional legacy. Her responsibilities in this role include calling subcontractors and inviting them to bid on company projects, issuing contracts and negotiating terms with subcontractors, verifying insurance coverage, compiling warranties for all equipment, delivering bids and launching new projects for the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Ms. Anderson has been praised for her exceptional communication skills and approachable demeanor. Owners have often noted her unique ability to inspire cooperation among colleagues and partners. Her attention to detail and commitment to building strong relationships have been instrumental in resolving challenges efficiently.
What truly sets Ms. Anderson apart from her peers in her field is her alignment with owners who value hard work and her willingness to put in long hours—often as the only woman in her environment—to ensure success. Her ability to relate to individuals from all backgrounds has proven invaluable when addressing complex issues such as clean water advocacy within her community.
Ms. Anderson’s proudest professional achievement centers on her decade-long campaign for clean water infrastructure in Riverside County, California. After purchasing her home, she discovered that many residents relied on failing septic systems that posed health risks during heavy rains. She engaged with local representatives and advocated persistently for a sewer system despite significant obstacles presented by the region’s rocky terrain. When California imposed a building moratorium due to septic concerns, Ms. Anderson championed an exemption for the Boys and Girls Club so they could update their facilities. Her advocacy led to pivotal meetings with city officials and water district representatives, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to community well-being.
Ms. Anderson’s journey into construction was shaped by unexpected life events. In 2001, she worked at a distribution warehouse managing shipments for major manufacturers before moving to Northern California with family members. The aftermath of September 11, 2001 caused job opportunities to diminish sharply, prompting her to seek new employment through an agency that placed her in construction, a field that had been previously unfamiliar to her. She quickly adapted by monitoring front desk operations and learning critical aspects of quality control such as handling submittals for materials and understanding LEED certification requirements. This experience deepened her appreciation for sustainable practices and the importance of adhering to architectural specifications.
Beyond her professional commitments, Ms. Anderson has demonstrated a strong sense of civic responsibility through volunteer work with the Twelve Valley Volunteer Fire Department, an organization established in the 1940s that eventually became Cal Fire. As part of an auxiliary group, she participated in monthly pancake breakfasts that raised funds for essential equipment such as a second set of Jaws of Life for the station. She also contributed to renovating the firehouse living quarters by updating insulation and carpeting. Additionally, Ms. Anderson organized annual community fairs featuring county programs like SNAP benefits and health insurance services while offering resume-writing assistance, all of which are aimed at connecting residents with vital resources.
Ms. Anderson’s personal life reflects her commitment to nurturing others and fostering growth within her family. As the oldest child, she has often assumed caretaking responsibilities, which helped hone her communication skills and empathy. She played a pivotal part in raising her nephew after his mother struggled with addiction, supporting him academically through creative approaches such as integrating math concepts into art classes during summer breaks. Her encouragement helped him graduate from high school despite adversity; he later enlisted in the Army during an economic downturn before returning home to pursue a degree in physics using GI Bill benefits—a transformation that remains a source of immense pride for Ms. Anderson.
Ms. Anderson’s exceptional contributions to her community have been recognized with honors including Volunteer of the Year Awards from both Menifee and Riverside County in California. Throughout every chapter of her life, she attributes her success to an innate ability to connect authentically with people from all walks of life, a skill she considers essential when tackling critical issues like environmental stewardship and public health. Looking toward the future, she envisions continuing to cement a meaningful legacy rooted in advocacy work on behalf of local communities with aspirations of running for public office. She hopes that when people hear her name, they feel valued and appreciated, a testament to the principles that guide both her career and personal endeavors.
