Mr. Brown, a senior leader and vice president of engineering at SCIpact LLC in Atlanta, a veteran-owned organization, has excelled since 2024. Based in Minnesota, the company specializes in providing turn-key solutions in the energy sector, particularly electrical vehicle charging stations and equipment, to federal, municipal and commercial clients. As such, he is tasked with helping organizations achieve their energy and decarbonization goals while developing sustainable strategies. Additionally, Mr. Brown has been successful as the president of KBSquared LLC in Atlanta since 2022, an organization that consults on energy, sustainability, resilience and decarbonization and provides support in education, energy auditing and helping companies reach their environmental, social and governance goals.
An engineer for over 25 years, Mr. Brown began his career with Summer Consultants Inc. in Washington, D.C. Over the years, he advanced into leading roles with companies like Honeywell and rose to become the vice president of engineering and vice president of client solutions at ABM Industries between 2007 and 2022. His expertise in energy efficiency and decarbonization of buildings has been instrumental in his success, and the many successful projects he has undertaken continue to drive him to remain at the forefront of where science and engineering collide. Besides his primary career objectives in this sector, Mr. Brown has been managing his new venture, Hounds Town USA, a doggy daycare business in Sandy Springs, Georgia, since 2024.
A graduate of Auburn University, Mr. Brown received a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering in 1994. He also received numerous professional designations, including those as a professional engineer, leadership in energy and environmental design accredited professional, and high-performance building design professional. Mr. Brown is a professional member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers and a member, treasurer and board of directors of the Energy Management Association. Civically, he is active with American Mensa and the City of Sand Springs eco-stewardship program, serves as the City of Atlanta’s sustainability ambassador within the office of sustainability and resilience, and, among other affiliations, is recognized as an Eagle Scout of the Boy Scouts of America.
