Mr. Okosodo has established himself as an expert in energy finance, demonstrating a rare blend of technical and financial acumen throughout his career. His professional journey is marked by a series of progressive roles that reflect both his adaptability and commitment to the energy sector, spanning more than 15 years in the industry.
In 2025, Mr. Okosodo advanced to the position of senior associate at CRC-IB, where he is responsible for developing financial models to assess the viability of renewable energy projects. In this capacity, he engages with potential investors to align investment criteria with project needs, facilitates the entire transaction process and ensures successful closure and capital allocation to project developers. Mr. Okosodo’s expertise in structuring complex deals and his ability to bridge technical and financial perspectives have been instrumental in driving impactful projects.
Initially joining the full-service investment bank in 2020, which specializes in energy transition, Mr. Okosodo worked as an investment banking analyst for three years. In this role, he contributed to the evaluation and execution of numerous energy-related deals. In 2023, Mr. Okosodo became an investment banking associate. During this period, he deepened his experience in financial analysis and investor relations, further honing his skills in managing high-stakes transactions within the energy sector.
Recruited from Fidelity Bank PLC in his home country of Nigeria, Mr. Okosodo worked as a business analyst in the energy and power division from 2018 to 2019. Here, he leveraged his engineering background to analyze energy projects and support financing decisions for large-scale infrastructure initiatives.
Between 2015 and 2018, Mr. Okosodo excelled as a client relationship manager for oil and gas upstream and midstream clients at Diamond Bank PLC in Nigeria. This role allowed him to develop a nuanced understanding of the oil and gas industry’s financial landscape during a period of significant market volatility. From 2013 to 2015, Mr. Okosodo was employed as a sky logistics and security supervisor at Edinburgh International in Nigeria. Earlier in his career, he gained hands-on technical experience as a hydrocarbon reporting engineer intern at Total in Nigeria from 2010 to 2011. Beyond his field work, Mr. Okosodo spent one year as a high school teacher at Saint Thomas’s College in Ibusa, Nigeria, starting in 2012.
Mr. Okosodo’s academic achievements include a Bachelor of Engineering in petroleum engineering from the University of Benin in Nigeria, earned in 2012 and supported by an undergraduate scholarship from the Petroleum Training Development Fund. He also received a Master of Science in finance, with distinction, from Hult International Business School in 2020. Beyond his degrees, Mr. Okosodo has received several industry certifications, including Series 63, Series 79, and Security Industries Essentials credentials from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, as well as an energy risk professional designation from the Global Association of Risk Professionals.
As a member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals, Mr. Okosodo remains actively engaged with industry best practices and emerging trends. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he is deeply committed to community service, having organized annual projects that support churches and their outreach efforts, providing both financial contributions and volunteer hours for community initiatives. Notably, Mr. Okosodo participated in a prison visit in California, where he engaged directly with inmates about their rehabilitation journeys.
Mr. Okosodo attributes his success to an analytical mindset cultivated through engineering training and a continuous desire to create value within the energy sector. Growing up in Nigeria with limited access to reliable electricity instilled in him a deep motivation to improve energy accessibility for others. Looking ahead, Mr. Okosodo aims to expand his professional network while playing an increasingly significant role in financing energy projects across the U.S. with a focus on both renewable energy and natural gas sectors.
