Hired as an assistant project manager in Baltimore, Maryland, Mr. Bartram served in this capacity from 2015 to 2016. Continually advancing, he earned the titles of project manager for the program manager office between 2016 and 2017, then as a program manager in the same office, also in Baltimore, between 2017 and 2022.
From 2022 to 2025, Mr. Bartram continued to excel as a program manager for the project management office at the firm’s Boston location, where he has since remained, responsible for overseeing large-scale initiatives and ensuring alignment with client objectives.
Before joining Burns & McDonnell, Mr. Bartram built foundational experience at Kiewit, a leading construction and engineering company and one of the nation’s largest. He began as an estimator in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, in 2009, progressing to an engineer in Somerset, Massachusetts, starting in 2010. From 2012 to 2013, he served as a field engineer on Staten Island, New York. From there, Mr. Bartram became an estimator in 2013, then served as a materials engineer in Lima, Ohio, in 2014, and as an engineer II in the Greater Boston area between 2014 and 2015.
Mr. Bartram began his professional journey as a land surveyor for the city of Philadelphia from 2008 to 2009. Each position contributed to his comprehensive understanding of engineering principles and project execution.
Mr. Bartram’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering with a concentration in structural engineering and a minor in construction management from Drexel University. He later earned a master’s degree in executive construction management from Purdue University.
Throughout his career, Mr. Bartram has maintained active membership in several industry-related organizations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers, which has provided him with valuable networking opportunities and contributed to his professional growth. His dedication extends beyond his professional responsibilities into civic engagement. Mr. Bartram is involved with the New York Union Club and a local sailing club in Newport, and supports several community organizations, such as United Way and the Beacon Hill Civic Association in Boston, which protects Beacon Hill’s historic residential character.
Among Mr. Bartram’s most notable achievements throughout his career was the creation of a 60-person program that enabled him to influence colleagues, provide employment opportunities and enhance support for clients. This accomplishment stands as a testament to his commitment to positively impacting his company while also supporting both colleagues and clients. Mr. Bartram greatly values hard work and dedication, principles instilled by observing his father’s efforts during his upbringing.
Looking ahead, Mr. Bartram aims to further expand his influence at Burns & McDonnell by developing into a stronger leader. He is also committed to recruiting more owners for the employee-owned firm while continuing to help clients solve their challenges and mentoring future leaders within his team. Moreover, Mr. Bartram intends to increase his civic involvement with the Beacon Hill Civic Association.
