In this capacity, Mr. Kueny collaborates closely with architects to conceptualize homes, prepares and submits plans for municipal approval in Ocean City, New Jersey, manages the hiring and supervision of contractors and subcontractors, and leads a team of five to six staff members. Among other responsibilities, he administers project finances, conducts thorough inspections at each phase of construction and ensures that rigorous safety standards are met. Additionally, Mr. Kueny is tasked with preparing completed projects for sale and managing the closing process.
Promoted to director, Mr. Kueny previously spent 10 years as the company’s construction project manager. During this period, he refined his skills in project oversight, team leadership and client relations. Mr. Kueny’s commitment to quality work became especially evident as he guided projects from inception to completion. Mr. Kueny takes pride in delivering finished homes to buyers, finding deep satisfaction in witnessing homeowners’ appreciation for the craftsmanship, style and thoughtful design of their new residences. Before his tenure at JWR Properties LLC/Star Home Builders, Mr. Kueny was a construction manager at Hill International Inc. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from 2000 to 2015. In this role, he contributed to large-scale commercial and infrastructure projects, further developing his expertise in complex project coordination and stakeholder communication.
Between 1998 and 2000, Mr. Kueny served as a senior project manager at Riverview Architectural and AKW Systems. Here, he managed multifaceted construction initiatives that required advanced problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail. Mr. Kueny began his career shortly before that as a construction inspector with Kueny & Doyle Construction Consulting in Philadelphia and New York from 1995 to 1998. This foundational experience provided him with an in-depth understanding of the industry.
Mr. Kueny’s educational background included an associate’s degree in liberal arts from Rowan College at Burlington County in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, followed by coursework in construction management at Drexel University in Philadelphia. These academic pursuits have equipped him with both technical knowledge and a broad-based perspective essential for effective leadership in construction management.
In addition to his formal education, Mr. Kueny holds several industry certifications that underscore his dedication to safety and excellence. He earned the certified construction manager credential from the Construction Manager Certification Institute in 2011 and completed Occupational Safety and Health Administration outreach training through 360training in 2025.
Throughout his career, Mr. Kueny has maintained active membership in the Construction Management Association of America, reflecting his commitment to professional development and industry best practices. Beyond his professional responsibilities, he has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to civic engagement. For 10 years, Mr. Kueny has served as the president of the board of Stonegate Homeowners in Mount Laurel, providing leadership in his local community. Additionally, he mentors students at various high schools, sharing insights from his extensive experience to guide aspiring professionals.
Mr. Kueny’s contributions have extended to several notable projects across the region. He played a key role as a contributor on the Comcast Center Campus in Philadelphia, participated in developments along the New Jersey Turnpike and was involved with schoolwork initiatives in New York City.
