Mr. Schultz, president and chief executive officer of South Central Electric (SCE) LLC in Houston, established his company in 2023. At the helm of his business, he specializes in multifamily construction, including apartment complexes and condominiums, while expanding into renewables and other aspects of the industry. Garnering tremendous growth, SCE operates outside of Texas and into different parts of the country, including Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Texas and North Carolina, among other states, with additional offices and warehouses in Florida, Utah and Arizona.
Leveraging an extensive 35-year background in his field, Mr. Schultz was the president of Gulf States Electric from 2021 to 2023 and Southern Electric of Tampa Inc. during that same time frame. He served in the same capacity at A&A Electric Services LLC between 2019 and 2023. Mr. Schultz also worked for Cleveland Electrical Company in New Orleans and Central Florida from 2013 to 2019. Among numerous other roles dating back to 1988, he was employed by Fisk Corporation, Powercom Industries, Encompass Services Corporation and Collier Electric. His career has taken him throughout the country, from Missouri and Boston to Connecticut, Denver and beyond.
Apart from his success in the industry, Mr. Schultz was a founding member and managing partner of Equi2move.com, a business-to-business internet exchange platform he ran from 2001 to 2002. The company became recognized as one of the first websites to hold live auctions for liquidating industrial assets.
In preparation for his future, Mr. Schultz graduated from Bishop LeBlond High School in 1976 before earning a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Missouri in Kansas City in 1984. As a dedicated member of his community, he has been active with various charitable organizations to give back to those in need, particularly during the holiday season. As such, Mr. Schultz has volunteered by feeding individuals experiencing homelessness during Thanksgiving and donating toys and gift cards for needy families for Christmas.
As a well-written writer, Mr. Schultz contributed his first book, “The Transformation of a Trillion Dollar Industry: How Demographics, Technology, and Unbridled Immigration Will Change the U.S. Economy Forever Beginning in 2030,” published in 2019.
Mr. Schultz’s early life earned him various accolades, such as being named to the Missouri Football Coaches Association’s All-State First Team in 1974 and 1975. In 2006, he was inducted into the Bishop LeBlond High School Hall of Fame. As a testament to Mr. Schultz’s hard work and dedication since the launch of his company, SCE has been recognized as one of the top 50 fastest-growing companies in Houston.
Mr. Schultz attributes his success to his passion for his work. As a third-generation electrical contractor, he draws satisfaction from the building process, collaborating with a skilled team that brings ideas to life. While coming of age, Mr. Schultz notably spent his high school and college summer breaks at Nick Schultz Electric Company, which his grandparents founded in the 1930s during the Great Depression. Furthermore, he notes the company’s owner for driving SCE into diverse markets. In the coming years, Mr. Schultz aims to continue contributing to SCE’s success while working toward establishing a publicly traded company.
